Ffyo loved puzzles.

Broken puzzles. Complicated puzzles. Impossible puzzles.

If something was broken, she wanted to fix it immediately.

One day a traveler arrived in the clearing, stomping and snorting like an angry bull.

“My bill went up and nobody told me!” he shouted.

Before the Rangers could say anything, Ffyo leapt into action.

“I can fix that!” she said.

She ran to the maps. She ran to the charts. She ran to the numbers.

She came back with the answer.

“Well actually,” she began proudly, “the reason it increased was because—”

The traveler exploded.

“I DON’T CARE WHY!”

The clearing fell silent.

Ffyo blinked.

Her wings drooped.

The answer was right… but the moment was wrong.

From behind her, Calico Cat stepped forward calmly.

“I can hear how frustrating that must feel,” Calico said gently.

The traveler’s shoulders dropped a little.

“And you’re right,” Calico continued. “No one likes surprises on their bill.”

The traveler nodded.

Only then did Calico explain the solution.

Ffyo stared.

The Rangers smiled.

That night she wrote her first Fugglies lesson in her notebook:

Right answer. Wrong order.

And a new seed was planted.

Validate. Acknowledge. Reassure.
